This is the spring where David went to hide out when he was hiding from King Saul. The Bible tells us that Saul went into a cave to go to the bathroom and it happened to be the same cave that David was hiding in. Saul didn't know it but David was standing so close to him he was able to cut a piece of his cloak off with a knife. David had the perfect opportunity to kill Saul but didn't take it. How would you respond if you were in a dark cave with your greatest opponent with a knife? David knew best that God was in control.
