There are two photos of the synagogue in Capernaum. The first is the one that was one that was rebuilt a few hundred years after the time of Christ. The one in this picture was found underneath the other synagogue and is believed to be the one where Jesus preached his sermon where he exclaimed that the Messianic prophesies were fulfilled in him.
