This is the site believed to be where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. What impressed me is that the Bible tells us that many people came out to hear John preaching in the wilderness. This would be like someone walking from Roseville to Sacramento (20 miles or so) through rough mountain terrain. Second, What also is fascinating is that I'm standing on the Israeli side and the other side of the river is Jordan as this river is the border. Only about 10 feet from being in Jordan.
